Galvanized sheet refers to a steel sheet coated with a layer of zinc on the surface. Galvanizing is an economical and effective anti-corrosion method that is often used. About half of the world’s zinc production is used in this process.

Japanese steel plate designation: SGCC, HOT-DIP GALVANIZED STEEL is hot-dip galvanized steel. Generally thin galvanized sheets.

· Material designation: SGCC

· Standard: JIS G3302-2007 Hot-dip zinc-coated steel sheets and coils

· Country and Region: Japan

· Steel group: Structural steel

· Note: Cold rolled steel sheet and steel strip used as the base metal and industrial use.

SGCC Equivalent

· German standard ST02Z

· European standard DX51D DIN EN 10327

· American Standard CS-B ASTM A 653

· Chinese Standard 01 gb2518-2004

Application And Advantages Of SGCC

Hot-dip galvanized sheet is galvanized on the surface of thin steel plate and steel strip by continuous hot-dip method, which can prevent corrosion and rust on the surface of the thin steel plate and steel strip.

Galvanized steel sheets and steel strips are widely used in machinery, light industry, construction, transportation, chemical, post, and telecommunications industries.

Hot-dip galvanized steel sheet is mainly used in the construction industry, vehicle and ship manufacturing industry, container manufacturing industry, as well as electromechanical industry and household appliance industry, as equipment shell, support frame or light bracket, etc.Hot-dip galvanized steel pipes are mainly used in the petrochemical equipment industry, water conservancy engineering and mining industry, construction industry, etc. as metal structure or transportation pipeline.

Hot-dip galvanized steel wire is mainly used in dry metallurgy, petroleum, machinery, chemical industry, electric power, aviation, and other industries.

Hot-dip galvanized steel structure and section steel are mainly used in industries such as electric power, communications, and transportation.

The main characteristics of hot-dip galvanized steel (SGCC):

1. Corrosion resistance;

2. Paintability;

3. Formability;

4. Spot weldability.

Usage: Very wide range, small household appliances, good appearance, but more expensive than SECC.

Galvanized steel has good resistance to atmospheric corrosion. Since the potential of zinc is lower than that of iron, the zinc layer is positive for the steel substrate and iron is negative.

In the electrolytic solution, the zinc layer is easily dissolved, thereby protecting the steel substrate from corrosion. In the general atmospheric environment, the corrosion product of the zinc layer is usually basic zinc carbonate, which is difficult to dissolve, so it has a certain protective effect on the zinc layer.
